It’s great news for the hospitality industry as KB Kachru, Chairman Emeritus of Radisson Hotels Group, assumes charge, for a three-year term, as a member of the esteemed Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board. Bhojanalayas (food centres) and refreshment units are an integral part of the larger Vaishno Devi experience. K B Kachru’s management expertise will certainly assist the Shrine Board in providing devotees with a more holistic experience.
Veteran hotelier K B Kachru was recently nominated as a member of the prestigious Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board. Jammu and Kashmir governor Satya Pal Malik, who is also the chairperson of the shrine board, reconstituted the board to nominate new members. The members are eminent personalities, including spiritual guru and founder of Art of Living Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, educationalist Vijay Dhar, former IPS officer Pramod Bhan and K K Sharma, CMD, AIMIL Pharmaceuticals.
The Board was set up in August 1986 under the provisions of The Jammu and Kashmir Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Act, 1988. The main objective of the Act was to provide for better management and governance of the Holy Shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi and its endowments including the appurtenant lands and buildings.
